hi all... i know you've been asked this a million times before.
is there such a thing as a template which has a membership system already installed using php and mysql?... i.e. something like the phpbb boards, but a website that you can just administer in the same sort of way?
I'm looking for a website that I can use for our local college. I want its people to have a "profile" type page, where they can upload stuff about their course and upcoming events etc and they can log in, update their page as and when they want... blah blah blah
I also want people to be able to search for other people using some sort of search facility. i would like to be able to tinker with the search facility, but I can cross that bridge when i find a website!!!
I suppose i'm looking for something a bit like facebook, without it actually being a bit like facebook, if that makes sense.
I'm not great with websites (as you can tell).. but am eager! and good with trial and error... and the college have given me a lot of spare time to get this thing up and running! any help would be great.
