Hi guys,
Earlier this week my house mate managed to find a way to get a fake anti-virus application called "antivir professional antivirus" onto my computer and reek havic throughout my system. I did the usual googling for a solution but after nothing was working.
The main problem this spyware doesn't allow anything to run after it starts and informs you everything is "infected" according to it. However, thanks to a mate at work, I managed to get rid of this completely with a simple, yet effective, maneuver.

The trick is that you need to catch this before it initializes within Windows. So after you logon and you hear the login music ring, quickly hit the Windows Key + R (to bring up the run dialog) and type "cmd" and then when that appears do it again this time run "taskmgr". From here you can kill the processes and start the cleanup. smile.gif

Hope this helps.

It is a nightmare to get around this one. I usually have no issues with spyware but this one seems to be a little bit more planned out.
