Hello
I want to be able to edit my MySQL databases but I can't because phpMyAdmin is going way to slow.
It takes 10 minutes just to load the databases page.
It takes a further 20 minutes to get into the table I want.
Has anyone else had the same problem and why it is going slow?
its slow, but not that slow. want to know why?
we'll your not the only one connecting to the database, so he got alot to do.
just sit and relax =)

Use PhpMiniAdmin, you can download it from source forge. Then upload it to your account and log in to PhpMiniAdmin, much faster. PhpMiniAdim is only ~10kb large (PhpMyAdmin is ~10
mb I've heard

)!

That is a good temporary solution, but once the admins fix the problem, I would delete the PhpMiniAdmin because users to your site will have access to it, and if they somehow figure out your username and password because of bad php scripting they can defile your site.
Best thing would be to make the foldername as unique as possible. and maybe inside another folder, or use htaccess

still loading slow... i need to be able to access phpmyadmin without having to wait one hour for the index to load (serious... i tried loading phpmyadmin and i waited about 7 minutes, then went to my room to play cod4 on my ps3, an hour went by as i played with my friends then went to get a drink and noticed the computer was still on, looked at the screen and it so far only loaded the background color to phpmyadmin - i didnt have any other firefox tabs open or any other programs open)

same getting same slow @ss problem
It's impossible to use phpmyadmin in those conditions.
It's too slow... or it takes 10 min or I receive a timeout when selecting a DB to work on...
This problem is not new... Should I have to search for another free hoster?

There is really no point in complaining about it. The admins know about it, they are working on a fix.
I know if you all were complaining about this to me, I would make sure you wouldn't get ANY mysql access once i got the thing fixed. Just for being impatient.

I just started playing with a website here. I started up a database and had the same problems with this. Because I didn't have anything special on the site yet, and therefore didn't care if someone got into the database temporarily, I decided to try the quick admin advice given earlier. It does work for the most part, but,,,it is still really slow. That tells me that the problem is not so much phpmyadmin as it is mysql itself. I'm guessing that the mysql server is getting bogged down. Considering the probable number of people using it there is probably a lot of info there. Servers are not cheap and these guys have been nice enough to make a lot of free space available. I agree with the last post. Don't complain about something that has been handed to you for nothing. They just might decide it isn't worth listening to the complaints and drop it completely. Just a thought---since the quick admin idea did work and did speed it up a little at least--upload it, do your admin stuff, and when you are done just delete that folder out again. Just a thought.

It is very slow. Anything at vndv.com seems to be slow. Many times, i cannot connect at all as even the name server responds so slowly that control panel logins are impossible.

While I agree that its useless complaining about it since they do indeed know about it, its a good thing its not up to you to provide MySQL access.
Or Do They Know About It?
Looking at the posts for the last half year, it doesn't appear that anything has been done to fix the issue. I just joined and am frustrated already with the extremly slow response from the server and came up here to find out if anything is being done to correct the issue.
Apparently Not.Saghalie

You know what, the MySQL error that was happening a half year ago was on the older server, which is running fine. That issue couldn't be helped, it was a bug in the phpmyadmin script itself.
And the errors that are happening now are happening because of a faulty hard drive. The hard drive keeps causing read only errors, and other issues.
And things have been done to rectify issues, you just don't see people post about them anymore, because they get fixed, or workarounds are made.
