My hosting is at it's end.. and I need to decide whether to stay with my current host (not this time..) or move to a new one.

Here's where my problem is. My last 2 hosts were pretty annoying and I want to know what you guys think is the best paid hosting. But there are 1 000 000 posts about that, so I also want to ask how you research your hosting. What makes you decide 'ok, these are the people I'm going to trust with my website'?

Thanks for any replies.

Btw, my last 2 hosts were Kualo (Canada) and Netfirms (which was pretty good, but they have customer support issues), just so you know...

I'd recomened either Lunarpages or DreamHost. They are both good in my mind. (though i have had trouble and a ban for life from dreamhost their still okay in my book)

Lunarpages i have been with since july and i have had no downtime, and they offer 24/7 phone support (something dreamhost dosn't offer yet)

I just looked online and read what other people thought. Though there were some ugly posts for both i still had a great time. LP link in my sig.

DreamHost is pretty good in my opinion, I've never had any problems with them.

I'll second that. They offer features which are very rare to be seen in cheap shared hosting; for instance ssh access with compiling tools.

Thanks for the info! I'll definitely check them out later, they seem to be down for maintenance at the moment.
