Hi I am looking to monitor traffic on my website. Ip addresses change often so i was wondering if it is possible to get a person's MAC address, that way I can be certain of new visitors or returning viewers.
Thanks!

No, as the reported MAC address (to our server) won't be the users MAC, but the datacenters MAC.

so there is no way, even if javascript could run something?
if so, are ip's the only option to monitor traffic?

Security settings quite sensibly deny MAC addresses from javascript.
