I made it using photos and textures to make it look a little more personal. Just an experiment.
Anyway, I need help with the banner. want to put something on it that doesn't make it look at all techno or clean or whatever... just something scribbly.

i like it...... actually alot, i wouldn't use it, i would make a design like your sig (top one) but very nice!

I would not see why you would need a login so dominant on the page. Maybe use that box and add another for other blog features like a blogroll etc. Its very good, and creative.

Try putting some elements at the bottom [beside that cup of coffee] -- maybe a partly-seen sheet of paper [tilted at a 45-degree angle] with one of your sketches on it [or something else] to fill up that space? And like Cspace says, is that big login really a must-have? I don't know much about blog sites so I wouldn't know...

More contrasting colors, I wouldn't use the same texture (that cardboard sandpaper thing you're using for the content) for everything, that makes it boring. Maybe add a photograph or something (of someone, maybe blog author) as the blog title because of the way you have it shaped. As for other critique the spacing needs work, it looks disorganized, and the way you are cutting out edges doesn't look very realistic.
