Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way for me to allow users of my website to access their gmail accounts within the website. I've been trying for while to put gmail in an iframe, but whatever I try, gmail breaks out of the iframe. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks!

Do you have a link to your site or maybe the code you're trying to use? This could help us help you better.

Here's a few of the things I've tried:

<embed src="https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=http://mail.google.com/mail/%3Fui%3Dhtml%26zy%3Dl&bsv=1eic6yu9oa4y3&scc=1&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2&hl=en">

<iframe src="https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=http://mail.google.com/mail/%3Fui%3Dhtml%26zy%3Dl&bsv=1eic6yu9oa4y3&scc=1&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2&hl=en">

Gmail broke out of both frames, so I tried using onunload with both. It worked, but when I tried to sign in through the frame, it just went to a blank page. Do you know how to fix this?

Thank you!

Wow, I was a little surprised too. It seems that Google won't allow Gmail to be embedded or framed into a web page. huh.gif
Forcing whatever code is making it take over into stopping is beyond my power. In the mean time, can you make it open into a new tab or page? Even though that won't be as convenient, it looks like it's your only option. If you're dead set on getting it to fit into your own website, I hope this post will catch the attention of real professionals that can help you. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

Also, when you're asking for help on this sort of thing, make sure it goes into the General Discussion & Help section.

Thats a shame, but can not say I am surprised that Gmail disallows such a simple little thing.
Its good to know before I try though.

Imagine that, a site not allowing simple things, sounds a little familiar to me.

Yes, I realize; I'm trying to embed gmail's website into my own website. However, after continually trying at this, I think I'm just going to settle for making my own "e-mail" (not POP3 or IMAP) system, and then trying to integrate it with gmail. Thanks for the input!
