Ok, so here's the story. I had just received an email from my school that they will be deleting my website soon because I am no longer taking one of the their computer networking classes. Well, that's true, as I had just transferred from the 2-year college and I don't have time to take their online courses due to the classes I've been taking at my new school; however, I would like to preserve my site for future references while developing other webpages, so I decided to start transferring them here on top of my existing site, which I haven't updated for a while. But here are a few problems I had come across:

1.FTP server--can't figure out how to log in using secure shell with the hosting here; did it before with my school's server, but that's another topic.
2.Found that the extension .pl isn't allowed, which happens to be one of my assignments that used the extension when checking what extensions were allowed/not allowed.

So in a way, it's become very frustrating. It took me a long search to find this site where I don't have to pay or get tricked into a free trial ever since Yahoo! closed their Geocities site (my previous site) and made us pay for web hosting. Also, it took me a while to find a site where I don't have to be forced to take on one of their templates or page builders while creating a webpage, although, to be perfectly honest, I would not mind using the builder as long as it's not forced upon.

While I would like to ask why .pl is not allowed, but I won't as you said not to (but you're free answer to anyway). Instead, I'll just ask, is there another web hosting site that allows .pl?

If you're asking what extensions my webpages contain besides .pl, here's a list.
-Comprises mostly of html and CSS extensions as well as JPEG and GIF image files
-Also includes .class, .jar, (Java Applet files) .mp3, .wav, .mid, (music files) .dat, .php, and .txt

If it weren't for this problem, this web hosting site would have been perfect. smile.gif

Thanks in advance!

Easier said than done. Even if there is one that supports a format I will less likely use frequently but still wants an example of my own work, many will still charge. It's hard to sort out!
