Machine's quest for the perfect Web 2.0 style goes on...

And here's what the machine has found lurking within the dark digital depths of the Internet:

An online tool that generates all kinds of rounded corners for your websites.

Now on with the quest... smile.gif

@ EMO: dude, I think I know that Web 2.0 is not only about rounded corners.

This is what I had written about all such online generators in an earlier post:
QUOTE
Most online generators that generate elements that allegedly conform to the elusive Web 2.0 'style' [and exactly what that is I don't know -- most of the 'elements' of the so-called Web 2.0 design and usability have been around from the time I began using the Internet, like the Google logo or user participation through sites like amazon.com or epinions.com] are basically created in a lighter vein -- as online jokes
.

Most of these generators are online gags, a broad parody of the so-called Web 2.0 design practices currently visible/imitated all over the Internet.

Even the RoundedCornr.com site mentions this gag aspect. This, for instance, is a quote from the RoundedCornr site:
QUOTE
You might've found some blogs, screenshots, comments, etc. on an earlier version of this site. The earlier version was a parody of Web 2.0 sites. We'd removed the parody in the current version because 1) the earlier site had been up for a while and the humor was starting to get old, and 2) some people just took the site too seriously and never got the satire.

So let's go over this once again:
QUOTE
...some people just took the site too seriously and never got the satire.

However, if folks find them of some use, I guess we can live with that, no?wink.gif

Note: I hasten to mention that these generators parody only the design aspect and not what is commonly-regarded as Web 2.0 technology [AJAX, PHP, Forums etc].

I honestly don't believe in Web 2.0. It's the internet, all it defines is a change in pace and new languages. So fucking what? Some sites NEVER changed in terms of design. Features maybe, but not design.

It is just a buzzword.[period]
