Hey everyone,

Sorry about such a n00bie question so early on, but I am completely new to this unsure.gif

I have only just figured out how to use FTP (Yeah, I know) and I'm not sure if I've got it right even now...

The problem is not with getting the files uploaded, but more with the screen I am confronted with when I do.

It goes straight to install.php and comes up with this:

As you can see, I am at a loss to what a relative path is. I have tried googling this, and searching here on the faq and forums, but it all seems like I have got stuck rather earlier than anyone else :smile.gif

I realise that there is probably a very simple answer to this, but as I said I am a total n00b when it comes to SMF, and any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated smile.gif

Thanks in advance, and I hope I learn from my mistakes.

I don't think the ftp connection method will work.

Chmod 777 the files it lists instead.

If you want to try, the path would just be / because in ftp '/' is your web directory.

No, doesn't seem that this is the answer sad.gif Can you explain what Chmod 777 is? Is it making all the files wrieable via your ftp client?

Thanks for your help wink.gif

Well, I've selected all the files and changed the permission number to 777... But it still doesn't get me past the page above...

Is there anyway around this, or could you do it for me if I gave you the details?

Thanks smile.gif
