This UPS was a good investment. The power has gone out twice today. The server/internet has stayed up thanks to the UPS. Too bad it only gets a good 45 minutes.
On a side note, AJAX is really cool.

I love thunderstorms also. I did have a good serial modem get fried about a year ago though.

speaking of this... im on my 3rd xbox 360...
1st one got soaked by a water pipe leak...
2nd one got fried because that was the time i forgot to plug in my surge protector....
My USP lasts about 2 hours, ample time to save my work. 
But yeah, Thunderstorms can be a pain in the arse sometimes, especially during open-roofed concerts and whatnot.
