Hello all smile.gif

An online tool to generate Flash [SWF] buttons for websites. You can find it here.

Cheers!

These can be done with just css. Using flash for rollovers is kind of lame.

...even the animated ones [with audio FX and all]?

Like the one with the black-&-yellow horizontally sliding doors and the flashing lights and the audio effects?

You know the one I'm talking about... this one [see pic below]:

Y'know, there are two disctinctive groups within the web-design community -- those who love Flash and those who prefer CSS.

I love them both! smile.gif

The best thing that I personally like about Flash is that it gives the designer total freedom. I mean, traditional HTML and to some extent CSS limit web pages to a tabular, or rather a grid-like layout. With Flash, however, this is not the case. You can design your page any way you want to and if used intelligently, it can create some terrific sites.

Of course, the buttons can be jarring if used in layouts where they do not gel well. But I don't that will be a problem with the Zymic forum members -- they're pretty good, you know? Much better at this than I was at their age tongue.gif

The reason I singled out that particular black-&-yellow button as an example is because the second I saw it, I thought of it being used in a site with a Top Secret/Area 51-type theme, you know? You'd have a news ticker with that electronic glow and a typrewriter effect, a computer monitor in a corner with an alien autopsy video [a short GIF/Flash loop] on it... the whole 'classified info' ambiance -- the 'look' a lot of the gaming/clan sites I've seen on the Net are trying to achieve...
