Full Version: Where Did My Intro Post Go?
Zymic Webmaster Forums > General Discussion > I Exist!

I could swear I made a post in here introducing myself and my website NOCIG. Am I losing my mind or did a mod remove it for some reason?
ssfdre38
i removed it as its a forum of advertising and we do have more users under the age of 18 so we do need to keep it clean on the forums

Er.. O.k. dude. I wasn't advertising, just giving a general description of what my website would be about. I was not advocating the sale of cigarettes or electronic cigarettes to minors. I don't understand how that is not clean or dirty in any way.

My group is just a consumer advocacy group for adults. Sales of those products are illegal to minors anyway and we don't even sell them.

well its just that we kids on here and we want to keep everything under the age of 18. now if you want someone to review your site then go to http://www.zymic.com/forum/index.php?showforum=46 as its the right place for it

Well then instead of making me look like the bad guy who is posting something I shouldn't, why don't you add that to the TOS, because according to your TOS I didn't break any rules.

Futhermore, I did not appreciate having my thread removed without so much as a private message saying " hey we removed your thread because of such and such reasons" I didn't even get a warning.

Is this how you guys run this site? Adding to the TOS at your whim and not being forthcoming with members? If so, perhaps I should look for another host.

its that we get hit with ads on our forums a lot and our hosting TOS is not part of the forums we have separate rules for the forums but you can host your site on our servers with out any problems cause we do like information sites. here is the link for our forums rules http://www.zymic.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3033

I do understand your position it's just you made me feel like I did something that was either wrong or against the rules. I just reread the forum rules and I didn't break any of those either. The closest to the issue it comes is, "You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law." And I didn't do any of that.

I suggest if you do not want introduction post concerning an adult nature to be seen by your non adult users, you add that to your forum rules.

Thank you. I did add the following to my post.

"P.S. This is consumer advocacy group for adults. I do NOT advocate either smoking or using Electronic cigarettes or the sale thereof to minors. We do not sell any tobacco or e-cig products."

As I said, I do understand your position. My group is strictly against the sale and use of electronic cigarettes to minors. They are only marketed to adult smokers as an alternative tobacco product that does not contain the harmful chemicals that make up regular tobacco. Just trying to save some lives here.

I do agree that a disclaimer on my post to that effect was in order. I hope this will satisfy your concerns.
