I know that the current popular registar is GoDaddy.com. But I actually don't know if there will be a big difference if I register on a different registrar, because I usually just bought it from the hosting package from the hosting company.
Now, I am thinking to buy a domain from register.com because I have a small discount, not much but it helps. Will there be any differences the registrar?
Sorry if my explanation is not-understandable, not a fluent English speaker. :/

I personally use both Godaddy and Monicker. Sometimes Godaddy is a pain in the butt because of their stupid TOS. I know Jack here had problems because one member uploaded warez contents or something like it. I would recommend you use monicker but others may disagree.

Thanks for the answers.

Now what I want to know is, other than price and company name, is there another differences? I mean, features-wise all should be the same right?

I personally use Godaddy and 1and1
Gadaddy : At first i thought it was simple and easy... but than i realised it was actually a pain in the a** ! i have 5 names with them and i keep the acount only because i have a 200gig site and to lazy to move everything !
But seriously, its to long to register and i think its kind of hard to manage.
1and1 : i do not know if many people know them ? more over a european site i think, well its the cheapest in europe, but the way you manage your domains... OMG really simple, whats good about them is that they always always have sales... so you get even lower prices, awlays some 50percent off or 3month free features... its nice, also registering a .com with them takes less than 3 or 4 hours to be set, aswell as a .net... my .biz took me less than a day, the longest was my .fr (from france) which took over 4 days but i think its because france is not developed to give the .fr names.
Other features you can expect ? there are lots of differences :
Prices
Time to be available
If you are allowed to transfer to an other registrar / price / free ?
Subdomains allowed ? how many ?
Destination of your domain ? folders ? other domains ?
Hiding your domain ? (always keep the domain name on the address bar)
DNS controlers ?
Do you get mails with your domain ? how many ?
1and1 offers me all the above, i am allowed to 20mails per domain, transfer for free, play with the dns, have unlimited subdomains, and forward my domain to anything and anywhere...
I am sure there are mor things to compare the domain registrars...

Oh god. 1and1 have had terrible reviews, I won't go near them. And I had problems with NameCheap. They said their Fraud Prevention Team would ring me, but never did. I contacted them numorous times and they never replied back. Eventually, I had to get help from NamePros.com to help (got help from an official representative whos a member there) and he told them of my problem personally. Still know call/email.
In the end, my mum lost $8 (ooh wow, lol) and I lost a domain for a year. Other than those problems, I've never tried any other domain name (never had to, either my cousin got it or in case of Glitches Exposed, Colin owns it). But I wouldn't mind finding one as I wanna get a few of me own domains and another one for Glitches Exposed lol.

I don't really like GoDaddy, and I'm using register.com right now cause I got a free name from them, and I'm not liking them to much either. So I dunno.

Godaddy.com - They may be cheep, but they will screw you with hidden costs; they fine you for inaccurate whois data, suspend your domain without prior notice and try and sell it back to you at an extortionate fee, etc. Combine that with a 1000 step checkout, I wouldn't recommend them, they are the devil of the domain industry. Oh and for some unexplainable reason I feel like I need to give Bob Parsons a good slap.
Register.com - $35 is expensive, especially when GoDaddy is $25 cheaper, you'd expect decent support right? Simply put, it took them over 90 days to resolve a domain name issue I had with them; it turns out I didn't own the domain despite it showing up in their account section. Also, to move away from them you have to phone them to get the EPP code, which I find a bit "tight".
Answerable.com - They are part of Directi.com which own ResellerClub.com, their prices are pretty cheep but the ResellerClub.com control panel is terrible, even for doing simple tasks like listing domains your domains. Their abuse policy is worse than GoDaddy's, they suspended my domain name without notice, and gave me 7 days to transfer away from them, but I couldn't transfer because ICANN rules state you can only change registrars 60 days after being with your current registrar, which I hadn't. Simply put they tried to force me to keep the website offline until the domain name was transferred in 12 days. Their call center is located in India and the first time I called and asked to speak to their abuse department it was non-existent and I had to call the next day.
Namecheap.com - They used to be an Enom reseller but they are now ICANN accredited. Their site is attractive and their control panel is easy to use, combine that with cheap competitive domain pricing, I recommend them. Obviously since they may not be relying on Enom anymore there is a small risk, but I'm sure they have the capital and won't screw you over like RegisterFly.com did.
Enom.com - Second largest registrar in the world, $30(?) pricing per domain name is a tad steep, but their service and support is solid, if you have one or two domains I'd recommend you go with them, but for large portfolios it may be better to go to another registrar to save costs.

I've registered a few domains with godaddy and never had a problem. I don't have any right now, because I can't think of any good ones, but anyways, I agree godaddys control panel is annoying to use, and their checkout system is way too long. But I've never had any problems with them deactivating any domains of mine. And I don't know what Jack means by innacurrate whois data, but I guess mines always been accurate.
1and1 is a horrible company, I've never had peronal experience with them but I thank god I haven't. I have heard so many people having so many problems with them and their support is horrible. And I've also heard that you can't get your domain away from them, to transfer I mean... and the few people that did it took forever. Now all this has been a few years ago, but I don't know if they've changed any.
I've been hearing alot about namecheap.com and I'll probably buy my next domain from them, just because everyone seems to be liking them, but otherwise i'll stick with godaddy. Even if their TV commercials are stupid.
