You should try Googling "Website templates" if you want a website that's ready to use and you just want to add the content, otherwise free website generators such as
http://webs.com or
http://weebly.com will be what you're looking for.

It's really hard to beat Wordpress since it's free and set up to work at a very high level for amateur users. It can be daunting if you don't know anything, but if you can move your way around HTML even a little bit you should be OK to drop in a template and make the minor adjustments needed to get a themed website up and running.

When building a website there is a process that most designers use. This process covers all the steps from deciding on a website to building it and putting them live.

I'm going to give you a bit more detailed answer than what you've gotten thus far.
When building a website you first need to ask yourself "What will this website be used for?".
This is a very important question that will determine how you build your website. If you are just looking to have a blog of some sort you can use a service like blogger or use a basic blog management system like Wordpress to do all the work for you.
If all you want is a webpage that has a few pictures and some text about Band Camp you can easily download a template online or you can code it yourself (which is rather easy).
If you want something a bit more complex like an online store you would need to use something like Drupal or Joomla to do it for yo. Or you can again code this yourself but it would be a lot more work for you.
The reason I'm telling you all of this is because I don't want you running around trying to download and operate CMS's or trying to code things yourself if you don't need to.

There are many websites that let you create your own pages. It is better to create your own website then you can have the advantage of freedom of use. Look for the people in the internet who are experienced in web development and design. Share your thought with them and they can help you to build your own website.

thanks for all your reply, I want to create an e commerce website but no shopping cart, just put all my items and let them contact me if they want orders and ship them out.
That's not hard to do. The only thing I would ask is.
1. What kind of products are you trying to sell?
2. How many products?
3. Will you be getting new products on a regular basis?
4. How do you want customers to contact you?
5. Do you want to track customer information?
Next you want to get into demographics.
1. Describe your target demographics.
2. What other products do your customers buy (this is important when it comes to brand marketing and cross advertizing)?
These are just some of the questions that you have to answer first before you even lay out your first page. I know it may seem like a lot of work but really you'll be thankful for the prep work beforehand. It will allow you to determine exactly what you want and then you can turn around and begin building the website that fits your needs.
I'm sorry if this seems like an overly "general" response but you did ask a pretty "general" question.

There is no any good website domain you can get for free. If you want to share information for free. you can use blogs instead. There are many free blog sites where you can create your blogs for free and then share information whatever you want.

These are all great tips, but I do have to agree that you must ask yourself what the purpose of the site will be. If you will be setting up a portfolio or blogging I would suggest going with Wordpress. I believe it is free but you will have a the wordpress.com as part of your domain name. If you will be selling products on-line then I suggest going with some shopping cart software. I am not sure which are "free" but most of those eCommerce sites will let you use their system while you develop your site, once it goes live you will need to start paying monthly fees.

WordPress is free and easy to learn. It will be better if you also learn HTML and CSS. These will help you along, although you could create a website with wordpress without knowledge in HTML or CSS. But it will help you a lot if you know them. Here's a page that offers free wordpress tutorials along with some other tutorials and videos that will help you.

blogger.com - I can't think for a better platform no matter if you just want a blog or a static webpage. Its one of the few free platforms that allows you to have a custom domain name, which is great, is like having free hosting.

Well it will be good to use free sites like other people have mentioned. but its still not a better idea if you really need a good site for your self. wix.com might just help you to put some information that you might not even know how it came about at all. so if you need a site it will still be good to take a course now and in a few days from today you should be able to do things on your own.
