i successfully installed joomla1.6 both on my local machine and hosted it in zymic. Using Zlib is not allowed in zymic, so i tried to install the extensions by unziping them localy then upload them in the "tmp" folder by filezila. The installation worked fine at my local machine, but the hosted version gave me this error:

QUOTE
JFolder::create: Path not in open_basedir paths
Component Install: Failed to create site directory: /www/99k.org/a/h/m/ahmedakl/htdocs/components/com_chronoforms

Moreover, the "extension manager" of joomla gives this warning:

The PHP temporary directory is not writeable by the Joomla! instance, which may cause issues when attempting to upload extensions to Joomla!. If you are having issues uploading extensions, check the 'VIRTUAL_DOCUMENT_ROOT' and set it to be writeable and see if this fixes the issue.

i checked the "open_basedir" status through Site->system information->PHP information and i found the following piece of information:
Directive = open_basedir
Local value = VIRTUAL_DOCUMENT_ROOT
Master value = no value

i tried different solutions as mentioned in many forums, such as:
1- changing the folder permissions to 777
2- changing values in configuration.php and folder.php files

but the error is still there mellow.gif

Does any one have a solution for this problem? Thanks for your help
