I have just moved to Uni a few days ago, I'm completely backlogged with stuff to do, and then theres getting the time to use the internet and checking my email inbox of unread emails. I forgot to pay an invoice, so they took the server off line.

Us admins have discussed and shared information so this WON'T happen again.

Very sorry, and FYI our hosting was not affected bar the web based control panel.

Downtime happening again wouldn't be the worst problem in the world. And, you can't guarantee it won't happen again entirely. But, good to see it back up.

Indeeed. There's no such thing as a 100% Uptime server.

I don't even believe in 99.99% uptime. It's absolute bull, how do you know if you server has 99.99% uptime?! Pretty much, it means that it's just up most of the time lol. Still false advertising though if you can't prove that your server has that uptime percantage.

Where did I say 100% uptime? I said this kind of accounting error will not happen again, now that I have my bank problem sorted.

Thanks

Actually there are some services that monitor your servers 24/7 to tell you your EXACT uptime wink.gif

LOL. Sounds like a waste of money, if you ask me.

I never take the uptime percantage as a guarantee. I don't think anyone should. Any site can go down at any time. Doesn't matter if you had the best security or were filthy sticking rich. There are plenty of ways sites can go down.

The earliest for me, was when my cousin bought hosting using www.npserve.com and it said 99.99% uptime. When we got the reseller hosting, we pretty much got only 99.99% downtime. It wasn't pretty, but it wasn't there fault either. They kept updating their security (they were being DDOS attacked) and changing servers, but some thing happen.

Either way, it's great that Zymic is back on the road again.
