Heh, when you added the images for valid XHTML/CSS, you made a mistake somewhere... Because that part didn't check out through the validator :-P
They caused 7 errors

I don't really understand what the "Portfolio" button things on the left are.
Are they some unfinished thing?

In Opera 9, the spacing for the "portfolio" thing on "Home" and "About" are different.
In IE, the navigation bar moves all the way over to the left on the portfolio page. (I think in IE7. but uhh, not sure)

The design's pretty nice; lots of stars :-P
I liked the fixed width.
The picture looks like some stock picture, but it's pretty... The contrast does take a bit of attention away from the site, because it's so much darker.
Maybe a bit more faded background would look better *shrug*
You should make a favicon (probably a star happy.gif)

It must be the valid buttons , it was checked out on every page before and it said it was valid, then i added them, I will check it out.

Also yes i agree, i shall try make the site more focused on the content rather than the background.

Much appreciated.

EDIT: Now valid xhtml again, yes it was the xhtml/css valid buttons, for some reason they caused me the problem, found that quite funny.

Not bad, the Portfolio link is bigger then the other nav links. I think the main image, banner, is very random for a layout. I'm not sure if about it, but it's not horrible. Not bad, nice background.

Looks pretty good. There are alignment issues in the portfolio page using ie7. The background looks nice but the hue is off compared to the rest of the site. The header image is really nice.
