Sir Lemons
I may leave Zymic because of its high downtime and lack of online CSS editor, etc. This is what I feel like doing( hunter.gif ).

Friendliness of web pages: 7.5/10

Amount of downtime Downtime: Site offline 35% of the time; ZCP offline/not workin 45% of the time

Disk Space: 8/10

FTP Support: 0/10(never worked, tried about 37 clients)

Bandwidth: 8/10

FileManager: 5/10(liked it but TAB key didn't work, lack of support for file types)

Allowed File Types: 7/10

Support: ?/10(My OS does not support IRC clients)

Overall: 4/10(I have had better but none supported all filetypes that zymic supports)

Yes there is a lot of downtime, but i still like it because it does give me a chance to work on a practice site before i go and buy my own domain/hosting. Its a good free host thou smile.gif

If you manage to find me a better FREE host than Zymic I'll leave Zymic and join the site you supply. I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon though cause I believe that Zymic is one of the best FREE website hosts. smile.gif I bet that the downtime will eventually be resolved and then you'll notice that this is a great host.

Hello,

The downtime of hosted websites will be greatly improved now, the past 2 days has been hectic because we have been having problems with our MySQL server, and in order to load ANY website the MySQL server has to be online. Obviously when we are working on a MySQL problem, we need to take it offline/online at various periods, and therefore when we do this, all 50,000 hosted websites are affected. Its simply something we couldn't bypass.

You are able to login to your hosting control panel now by visiting www.zymic.com/zcp/ - so everything is back to normal for current hosted users.

The main problem we now are facing is fixing the signup to reflect the new changes we have made to the MySQL server, and so the issue only lies for new users, or existing users who want to create a new web hosting account, as they simply can't do so.

We will be learning from this experience, and please trust us when we say we are doing everything we can. I personally have lost a lot of money due to this, and sleep for that matter, but problems like this will only make our service more reliable in the future.

Thanks for your patience, and please recommend us to your friends once everything is back to normal smile.gif

Even with the current slow response of phpMYadmin, This is still a good host, and makes for a nice place to host little stuff for hobbys and/or test things before putting them up on expensive paid hosting. I am personally about to make a small site for people who play AD&D and hope to get the database part done in the next few days if I have to do the whole database using PHP code in a file. from that point the rest is how you say...
