I changed the layout to a more pleasant colour & used php for the main pages, but I still dunno how I can replace iframes with php fully.

Any thoughts?

-Nice.
I would suggest not using black font with red tho, it strains my eyes at least.
Also, I would avoid iFrame layouts (it looks like yours is one). Zymic hosts PHP, if you read some tutorials it can really help. Dynamic pages are easier to work with. Thats just my personal opinion smile.gif.

nice nice nice

few suggestions :

1) try to use margins to put your text away from the borders. they are to close to the sides.
2) use a different color than the black. probably white.

when working on projects i would suggest not trying to use iframes
and then apart from the text spacing
it looks awsome, i quite like the black.on.red
and the image on tha sides are realy cool cool.gif

good cool.gif For some reason it is a bit pixely for me thou...

for your iframes i would suggest you using php includes, it kind of works like an iframe but its quite different.

good tut here : http://www.zymic.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1647

I really really like the layout, but I have to agree with everyone else, the black on red really hurts my eyes. I couldn't even read anything on your site. And think about using php includes, instead of the iframes. You'll be surprised how much nicer it can make your page work.

thank you for all your comments & suggestions! =) actually, I haven't thought of the colour problem when i was choosing the colour of the layout. >< thanks for pointing that out! i'll replace a more eye-pleasant layout when i get a chance to make one.

and yes, they're iframes. that's the only method that i know, but i'll upgrade myself to use PHP. =) my old host didn't support PHP or anything like that, so i had no intentions to use it before. they didn't support FTP either, i just recently learned how to use it. I've got a lot of work ahead of me now. thank you so much! =D

That is what we're here for - If you need any help with coding I have a bunch of free time on my hands. Just toss me a PM.

Unfortunately for me none of your links worked. They just all returned dead Iframes. The design looks impressive except for the colours as mentioned. Perhaps you can avoid changing the colours by just enlarging your font-size to make it more readable. It looks a little bit small here and it's not helping considering the colour.

I like the way your navigation is. It's descriptive.

Keep it up smile.gif

Updated! http://iridescentillusion.zzl.org
with a new layout & php & div layers!
How is it now?

The iframes are still annoying... think you need to work on them so that there you don't have to scroll that box and the browser.
Andrew
all you have to do is insert a php include where the iframe code normally goes. something to the effect of
<?php include("news.php"); ?>
replace news.php with whatever that part is called, if its in a directory use directory/news.php etc...

Try that out and let me know how it goes okay? You may have to create a div tag with a certain width so your content doesn't stretch all the way to the right of the screen. if you need help with that let me know.

An include doesn't have the same purpose as an iframe though, but there are better ways that I have seen instead of an iframe.
Andrew
I have no idea what you mean, I can't tell if your saying DONT use a php include, or DO use a php include, because you turn right around and bash the iframe. And also, if you have no real help to give, why did you bother posting that? If you have seen better ways, why dont you suggest some? Even if the OP has to do a google search!

include is very nice and handy when you want to get rid of the iframes

I don't like popups, but the site looks good. Nice colors used, and layout.
Jetteh22
Wow, i think it looks fantamazing smile.gif I really like it you did a good job, all of the colors blend in together perfectly and you did a really good job w/ the graphics at the top of the page if you made them yourself.

I could only wish to be that good with photoshop (or whatever you use) lol.
Robbie
i like the site. i like your work aswell.
ill make a aff later, if you approve lol.
my site.
think i could get your aim? (wow, what a lame pick up line, lol)
Ulrich
Your new layout is cool, I just don't like the splash page. Nothing wrong with it I suppose, I just don't like splash pages in general because it's not very descriptive and by using them people tend to leave your site before checking in.

Other than that, your banner at the top looks very nice but it's huge and takes quite a while on South Africa's mediocre "adsl" lines to load. On my Opera browser I was able to notice that your index2.html page alone is almost 1mb big... not very nice for someone who uses dialup and believe me, there are people using dialup (something which i've noticed after signing up with google analytics and checking my visitors' connection speeds).

I still think the font is a tad small and I don't like the iframes at all and neither does Google, because iframes make it difficult for search engines to read your content.

Nice content.

Good luck

thanks you for share very cool

I like the graphics and content, but I personally think the menu should be on the right side, giving it a more homely feeling (these are just my opinions though).

lawl.. i thought these type of websites died out years ago!
