Quick question. Im pretty new to alotof this but my main interest is creating a website like break.com or thatvideosite.com

I want to be posting daily videos (wether it be fights,news,gossip, whatever)

And I just want to know what I might go about doing to get this done. Is it a strickly html thing? Is there a code I can copy and paste? You know what I mean? Some info will be helpfull.

Well I'm sure there are php scripts that will help you post videos. I found somewhere a youtube clone script, but i'm pretty sure it was illegal so I deleted it. But if you wanted you could create your own script. There are plenty of free flash video players out there, you'd just have to find a way to convert you're videos to the right format so they don't waste all your bandwidth.

Or you could just upload them to youtube and just embed them in your page.

Yeah see I would have no clue where to start on making my own script. So I guess ill look around for some php scripts that'll help. Got some studying to do!

what you actually do is get their script and modify it. at least modify the templates.

Its kind of expensive but making your own is .. wow... because these scripts do lots of things... convert your videos for smaller size and faster load.. it also includes profiles and accounts... many other things which push you to get your OWN server.

What does that mean ? it means a regular host will NOT do, i use to want to make a site like this coz i had some good ideas but i had to get a server (you have to modofy some stuff that hosts wont allow you to).
And geting a server is kind of expensive. Its either you have $$$ coz your a group, team.. community... or you are looking to make some $$$ and invest. Its expensive and asks lots of work. LOTS of work because you need to code aswell.

Html, css, php, ajax probably more... you need to know what you are doing or they will charge you to do it for you.

Something cheap to do is basically post videos your find to save server costs. and trust me their is nothing wrong with that.
