Ok first thing you need to do is delete the username you have made a make a new one that is much shorter, e.g. freealbumz_a
Then you need to apply all privileges to that user.
Server should be: localhost
Password, just type it as it is, no prefix.

All the information is typed properly and this is the error I get...
The installer was unable to access the "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" database. With some hosts, you have to create the database in your administration panel before SMF can use it. Some also add prefixes - like your username - to your database names.

How do I install packages/mods. I have uploaded the files but the installer on the SMF 'package' page doesn't do it. I have entered the information.

Username and password need to be your database username and password which you can set up by following this tutorial.

You don't have to upload everything again, just make a new account, create the database and username in the new account and use that on the old account.

First, download an ftp client, such as filezilla. Then connect to your site. Your host name is naveed.vndv.com, your user name is naveed, and your password is your hosting account password.
When it has connected, find the directories/files mentioned at the bottom of the link you posted. Right click on them, press file attributes. Change the numbers near the bottom of that box to 777, then press ok. Do this for every file/directory mentioned.

I'm sorry, but you do need to shorten your user name - I suspect that's your only problem. However, because your site name is so long, you need to make a new site, create the database/user on there, then connect from your current site.
