I'm moving Glitches Exposed to a commercial server (aka, one I pay for, well not me as of yet, heh). Anyways, I can move the forum but I'm going to need the MySQL Database to keep things like my settings, members, posts, etc.

So, how do I go about doing this as if this were cPanel I'd have no problem. But it ain't, it's a completely different system to what I'm used to. And no, I will not be leaving the forum due to the move and I thank Zymic for the time I've been hosted here, albeit not long.

Hey,

May I ask why you are moving from our hosting? Was there a problem? :|

Anyway, to move your SQL you will need to log into PHPMyAdmin and click the "Export" link, and then export your database (usually into a .sql file, its just plain text). Then on your new host simply import the database (providing you have setup the user account etc).

1. Nothing is wrong with your hosting. So don't worry about that. However, the site will eventually become bigger (if I forsee correctly) and we'll be needing more space anyway (of course, the hosting is overhosting to the max, but whatever).

2. Another reason I am using commercial hosting is because it can be considered more professional. You may have started Zymic off on a free webhost, but once it grew you would never have stayed on that host would you?

And 3. Thanks for that, I know how to use .sql files, heh. Just needed to know how to get the bloody things.
