You may laugh off but this is what I've done.
After I found setting up the permission 777 to wp-content/uploads didn't help, I manually created the folder called "2010" which contains sub-folders from "01" to "12"(I set the permission of 777 for those folders just in case) under wp-content/uploads. So far, I can upload the contents.
I made the folders up to 2013 and see if I will still be using the blog at that time...

Has anyone found the definitive solution to this?

I did as freescrapbook suggested but I still get:

"The uploaded file could not be moved to /www/zymichost.com/h/t/c/htctouchpro2/htdocs/wp-content/uploads."

When I try to add an image via WordPress Dashboard.

Any help please???

I've posted how to resolved this issue a few times already. Please read carefully. Make sure you have a folder called uploads - it doesn't have to have that name but for sake of simplicity - inside of wp-content. If there isn't such folder (uploads) just create it, then set its permission to 777. Now go to you wordpress dashboard, Settings>Miscellanous. Enter wp-content/uploads for the Store uploads in this folder field. You should now be able to upload files. I've just went through the steps myself and it works just fine. ph34r.gif

Thanks, that does indeed work. Thank you. It's just confusing as WordPress says that wp-content/uploads is already the default so it looks as if nothing needs changing.
