Hello, I recently installed my phpbb2 plus script and it was working properly for 3 days without a SINGLE glitch. I came today and when I wanted to enter, I saw this :

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@hosting.zymic.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

What error logs ? What happened ? Didn't do anything. Really !...

Sorry, our fault, you need to rename your .htaccess.

At the moment, limits are only allowed in .htaccess files and if you have any other directives it chokes and spits out a 500 Internal error.

After moving or deleting the .htaccess, your site will work again.

First of all, thanks for your quick reply, couldn't believe that you gave a solution in less than 20 mins... !
Secondly, it worked.

But I'm baffled (cause of my ignorance)...Isn't htaccess needed and doesn't it make the forum more secure ?
