I am trying to install phpBB3 onto my site but I need to know some things first:

Database Type: (Mysql/SQlite)

Database Server Host Name or DSN: DSN stands for Data Source Name and is relevant only for ODBC installs.

Database Server Port: Leave this blank unless you know the server operates on a non-standard port.

Database Name:

Database Username:

Database Password:

Any help would be much appreciated smile.gif

Sorry for double post but...

Fatal installation error

Fatal installation error

install_install.php [ 876 ]

Unable to write lock file

Can someone help?

EDIT: Nvm I found what was wrong, half the files were unwritable so I had to change the permissions..

renaming the install directory to something like "Setup" is fine wink.gif

but deleting install is the best step.

for two reasons.

1. youll never really need it again.
2. if you update to a newer release, your going to have to overwrite the files anyway.
