What is the maximum size of files to upload to ftp? I need tj upload 14mb file, and I can't do this :-(
Is there will be tool that can compress\decompress files with file manager?

I'm having some little problem with tansferring my files. It says there's to many connection in the same IP. What do I do?

Ah, yes, there is a limit of 2 connections from an IP addresses, it's possible if you've got no one else on your IP address that your ftp client has a keep alive feature. If you disconnect completely, wait about a minute for your other connections to timeout, you should be able to connect again. If you know it has a keep alive feature, turn it off.

Ok, how do I turn it off? Also, what's the average transfer speed? I just want to know if mine is not to slow.

You'll have to refer to your ftp client's documentation. I really couldn't give an average speed, it's not at its quickest at the moment though, but once the existing ftp issue is fixed hopefully there will be an increase.

To begin with you will need an FTP client, I use FlashFXP, however you may download Filezilla which is free (open-source) and easy to use:

Once downloaded, install and open FileZilla. Here is what it looks like:



In order to connect to FTP, you will need the following information (also included in your registration email):

• Your website address (e.g. jcator.zxq.net - without any www. or http)
• Username (This is slightly different for FTP, it is your username plus an "@" sign, so: jcator@zxq.net)
• Password

Now simply enter in your details into the top connection panel, followed by entering in port 21 like so:



And then hit "Quick Connect", if you have entered in your details correctly, you should be connected.

Now simply upload files from your hard-drive to FTP. To do so use the left panels to browse through your files, for example I want to upload test.txt which is located on my desktop. I right clicked it and selected "Upload"



The file will now be uploaded to your site, e.g. jcator.zxq.net/test.txt

You may also create new folders, to do so simply right click in the right panel like so:



You can also change file permissions by right clicking and selecting "File Attributes".

Mine is SnartFTP but it doesnt connect, it says Login autheticatio failed....
But I entered the password and username and the site correctly, I even copyed pasted it from my message.....

I know how to use FTP but the email i got either is wrong password or way too long 35 letters long don't seem right any help on this would be wonderful ...

Hello. I don't have a problem logging in or anything, it's just after about 20 seconds of not clicking on a folder on the remote host, it auto-disconnects me. Files quened will still upload, but after that's done, I have to exit FileZilla and open it back up again. I changed filezilla's settings to not auto-disconnect, but is it the server settings and can I change that?
