Hello guys.
What does this message mean? I am already logged in, and I have also registered a site on ClanTeam.com. Once I uploaded some files, and now I find where was that. It seems that I can not log in to my own directory manager....

Can you help me, please?

Nice info.. Thanks for sharing.. Its very useful to me..

I'm new to Zymic. This site has been running elsewhere for several years, but I got to know the ins and outs, as one might suspect. Once the Zymic site was established, an index.html file was put in place. I ftp'd my folder with my site folders and files in it to the same location. I then guessed that my folders and related files needed to be outside of my master folder and on the same plane as the index.html. Also, I assumed I needed my index.html to copy over Zymic's index.html, so I did that.

Assuming I did the right things (which may not be a valid assumption), then the site should show up, but it does not.

How can I determine if I have everything placed correctly? I've searched various forums without success and tried the real time chat with even less success. Call me quite frustrated at this point. I appreciate anyone who can point me to some guidance that would should be the file structure required.

Thanks.

For an updated FTP tutorial, see here: http://zymic.com/knowledge-base/ftp.html

With each free web hosting account, you will have access to FTP. FTP stands for "File Transfer Protocol" and is the best choice to use for managing your websites files.

To begin with you will need an FTP client, I use FlashFXP, however you may download Filezilla which is free (open-source) and easy to use:
http://filezilla-project.org/

Once downloaded, install and open FileZilla. Here is what it looks like:

In order to connect to FTP, you will need the following information (also included in your registration email):
  • Your website address (e.g. ftpupload.99k.org - without any www. or http)
  • Username (This is slightly different for FTP, it is your username followed by an underscore and your subdomain, so: ftpupload_99k, EXCEPT for vndv and uuuq domains. For ftpupload.vndv.com or ftpupload.uuuq.com, your username is ftpupload)
  • Password
Now simply enter in your details into the top connection panel, followed by entering in port 21 like so:

And then hit "Quick Connect", if you have entered in your details correctly, you should be connected.

Now simply upload files from your hard-drive to FTP. To do so use the left panels to browse through your files, for example I want to upload test.txt which is located on my desktop. I right clicked it and selected "Upload"

The file will now be uploaded to your site, e.g. ftpupload.99k.org/test.txt

You may also create new folders, to do so simply right click in the right panel like so:

You can also change file permissions by right clicking and selecting "File Attributes".

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Hi , I have dragged my folder to the right side column, then I closed it. However, I don't know where to find the upload file, please help me find it, thanks !
ssfdre38
if you closed it when it was transferring then its not there but if you waited then it would be your_site.zymichost.com/folder (note: replace your_site.zymichost.com/folder with your site)

I need a bit of help. I used FileZilla, and (stupidly) deleted the original HTML index file, and now I won't show my htm index file! Help!
ssfdre38
make sure its no Index.html
IDPower
Well, the file is Index.htm. Should I rename it Home.htm?
ssfdre38
no it needs to be index.html not Index.html or home.html or Home.html but index.html

Thank you...It is fixed...finally...thank you. smile.gif

hi
myne is index.html but I cant access the site, it gives me the welcome note still. what am I doing wrong?
ssfdre38
ok well you need to go to your ROOT of your hosting account on your FTP and there you should see a index.html file and that is what is producing that page, just delete it and replace it with your own index.html or index.php
