Okay - Update for April 30th 2008.
CreactiveOnline.com has begun its transfer to ThinkCreactive.com and it's sister sites.
"Free File Hosting" is now
http://www.UrURL.us"Free Form Emailing"is now
http://www.UrEMF.us (Your Email My Form dot us basically, just abbreviated).
CreactiveOnline.com is now
http://www.ThinkCreactive.comCommuMini.com has been started
http://www.CommuMini.com and Is coming along nicely so far.
Each site will have the same layout with a different header. The reason ThinkCreactive is a rainbow is because it is an "overview" site for ALL of the services.
UrURL.us is the green service (ie the green arrow)
UrEMF.us is the blue service (ie the blue arrow)
ANd there will be a red, orange, yellow, purple and so on...
And a white one - CommuMini is going to be coming up pretty soon.
I'm thinking about skipping off on the chatbox / shoutbox for a while because I don't feel like doing the "design" aspect of it right now. From what I can tell nobody is actually using them so I'm going to take my sweet time making the new ones so it's absolutely amazing

And...
Anyone know of any other services they can use? Any suggestions?
OH - And if anyone wants to join the banner exchange they can go ahead WITHOUT putting the banner code on their site.
I need to test it to make sure a good amount of banners are going to show up and once they get to "0" points they wont show up, ect so go ahead and sign up and upload your banners (http://www.thinkcreactive.com/bannerexchange/) so the site for free advertising. I'll prolly reset points to 100 once they reach 0 too.

Holy shit your avatar pic is scary... Lol!
Well.. What I mainly need help with ATM is the actualy design part - the layout of the site(s). Other than that nearly all of my programs are almost finished coded already (except the new shoutbox i'm going to code 100% from scratch)....
If you could work up a layout that'd be the best..

But like i said commumini will be my biggest project ever so i'll definately look into getting help on that.

Apr 26 2008, 12:12 AM
hhmmmmm... I've not worked much on layouts but I'll give it a shot

Apr 26 2008, 07:33 AM
That is cool! But... I decided to go with my own - I figured each service(website) will have the same layout with just a different header and different colors...
I just spent $118 dollars on hosting for the next two years so I wont have to pay for hosting until April 2010 lol and that's always good...
http://www.UrURL.us is started - I like the layout. I took the layout as a simple black and white thing from some website and just replace some of the CSS and made my own image for the header.

Apr 26 2008, 04:25 PM
i dont get what commumini is exactly..
Jetteh22
Apr 26 2008, 07:18 PM
CommuMini
Mini Community - A place where (basically) someone could go if they wanted to make a smaller community based site WITHOUT the work. They would go to CommuMini, fill out a form for their community, create an administrator username and password for it.
Everything will basically be customizable - Colors, images, layouts...
Once set up, you would give others your link (http://www.commumini.com/yourcommunityname) and they would then go and in turn see your community (or certain aspects of it if it's private). They could then sign up and be a part of your community...
Ever seen like a Forum-Based RPG? CommuMini could be used to do that..
It would have a forums, a chat room, unlimited pages for each user (with a navbar on the left, admins can click "add page" and they could arrange the pages also, etc)
I think it's a fantastic idea and it wouldn't be nearly as hard as it sounds... lol.
Understand now?
Btw - UrURL.us is completely done now (just gotta make the font smaller I think it's too big... )
wozzym
Apr 26 2008, 07:37 PM
ahh so basically an extended forum hosting site?
Jetteh22
Apr 26 2008, 07:39 PM
Yes, similar, but I've never been fond of forums to be honest.
I've always used smaller community-based sites like the one I plan on trying to make.
It'll have a forum ON it but it will be a simple forum, not a complicated one like this
wozzym
Apr 26 2008, 08:01 PM
ahh ok. well if you need any help just ask
Jetteh22
Apr 26 2008, 09:15 PM
Thanks d00d I'll definately need help on that one.
Gotta work on the actual ThinkCreactive.com site now so i can get the forums up and the contact page up and stuff
wozzym
Apr 27 2008, 01:34 AM
ya i tried visiting thinkcreactive.com but all it was, was a white screen

but that was a couple hours ago.
Jetteh22
Apr 27 2008, 01:38 AM
Yeah i did that cause i was actually testing out the URL redirection for ururl.us to make sure it worked (and it does of course cause i made it

)
I'm going to make the actual site tonight at home though it will probably just be one big image w/ different spots for different services and then 5 links at the top "Home | About Us | Forums | Advertise Free | Contact Us"
advertise free will be the "banner exchange" which I'm going to completely revamp so anybody who's signed up for it already will have to re-signup cause come june that isn't going to work (hosting runs out on creactiveonline.com) and the new banner excahnge will be at thinkcreactive.com (which i've paid for hosting for 2 years so that wont go away until april 2010)
Andrew
Apr 27 2008, 01:38 AM
Same here solid white screen.
Jetteh22
Apr 27 2008, 01:40 AM
see above post - i just edited it trippin lol
Andrew
Apr 27 2008, 01:41 AM
Ha sorry posted at the exact same time as you.
wozzym
Apr 27 2008, 01:44 AM
actually he posted before you considering your post was after his
Jetteh22
Apr 27 2008, 01:45 AM
Techinally speaking, wozzym is right

hahaha
Andrew
Apr 27 2008, 01:56 AM
So you could have been nanoseconds before me, and the computer would have still put yours in front of my post, but in reality nobody uses nano seconds so we COULD have posted at the same time. Also considering the fact that we posted in the same minute, maybe it decided that since his username is alphabetically first, then the forum would use his post first.
Lots of theories, but the main thing is, WE'RE OFF TOPIC.
Look forward to the new site design, And sorry for being so off topic myself!
Jetteh22
Apr 27 2008, 01:59 AM
Hell if I care about being off topic lol. It happens.
And.. It put me infront of you because I'm about <------------------------> much cooler than you soo.. Yeah that's how it decided.
Back on topic...
I gotta buy a few more URL's..
Any idea what I should name the chat program/shoutbox program i'm coming out with soon?
Thinking something like QwikChatBox . com or something similar to that...
Gotta find a name for the Email form also
Though I know that my commumini is gonna be called Commumini.com so i might wanna buy that one soon.
wozzym
Apr 27 2008, 02:00 AM
heh im sure we will be able to get back on topic. so ON TOPIC:
looking forward to seeing the design, and seeing how all of the sites and projects are linked.
Andrew

quikchatbox is going to be hard for people to type I think, but I don't know. I know typing here in this reply I wanted to type quick... but I guess it depends on your userbase. :-P I ARE LIEK TEH KEWL StUF!!!1!!!21!~``

I agree with Trippin. people would probably type in quick instead of qwik

Apr 27 2008, 02:41 PM
you should have the URL be initials of what the name of the shoutbox is
If you do QuickShoutBox.com then it could be QSB.com shorter URLs are always good
Valency
Apr 27 2008, 04:24 PM
Personally, I think you should keep Creactive Open. Make different domains ye, But always keep a link like something: Creactive Productions or something and a link back to Creactive. Where you could have a Section in your nav saying "Our Services" and put links to the other domains there, Just a suggestion.
Regards, Valency.
wozzym
Apr 27 2008, 04:31 PM
well he has that. but now its just thinkcreactive.com instead of creactiveonline.com
Jetteh22
Apr 27 2008, 07:10 PM
Yep, Valency mate, what wozzym said ^^
OH and yeah I would love to make it be QSB.com but there is a little problem with that.
Know how much it is to get a 3 letter domain name!? Lol it's hard to find even 4 letter ones. maybe i'll find a 5 letter one like ururl.us or something
nitsuarox
Apr 27 2008, 07:14 PM
then QSBhost.com
Jetteh22
Apr 27 2008, 07:26 PM
I think I figured out how to keep them all connected yet another way...
UrURL.us
MyQCB.us
Same amount of characters, all of them end in US makes it easier imo...
MyQ(uick)C(hat)B(ox) is what it'd stand for obviously.
nitsuarox
Apr 27 2008, 07:36 PM
heyyyy that a good idea
wozzym
Apr 27 2008, 09:46 PM
thatll work! just go with that if you think itll work
Jetteh22
Apr 27 2008, 09:50 PM

I think it'll be best.
The new
Banner Exchange is coming along nicely, though it does require a signup.
Figured that'd be the best way to do it though so some people don't abuse it.. It's a more complicated signup than the last one but the features are going to be better and instead of (random banners) it's going to go in order of how long since it's been viewed.. Ie - one that was viewed 56 minutes ago would be shown right before one that was shown 55 minutes ago.
nitsuarox
Apr 27 2008, 09:55 PM
That's a good idea too
Andrew
Apr 28 2008, 03:49 AM
I like that idea, **edit** I just deleted a whole paragraph talking about a points system, which I realize you already have. Goes to show I should read before I post. Sorry
And creactive, just know that I'm throwin ideas out at you because A. I wouldn't ever make something worth giving to the internet, and B letting you expand on your services since I think they are all a great idea.
And while i'm at it, why don't I say have you thought of a user system for your ururl.us site? So that people can keep links of all their images?
Jetteh22
Apr 28 2008, 05:45 AM
LoL yeah I was reading that in my email and was like "obviously he didn't read much"

My original idea for the banner exchange was basiccaly going to be "enter your url and upload an image - no signup required!" but.. I figured wayyyy too many people would try to cheat that (when / if the site became popular enough) so I decided to add a pretty simple signup with an admin console that you can upload your own image or upload a new image of your banner any time, change the URL u want it to go to, and change your password.
I also made it that your "password" is EMAILED to you so that you have to have an actual email address. I know this is kind of a pain in the ass but I made it like that because I really dont like those "authorize" things..
So basically even if you sign up 100 times - no matter WHAT if you don't have your password you CANT login and your banner won't start showing up unless you log in at least once.
Another reason I liked this idea is because that way a spam bot can "sign up" or whatever it wants to do but it'll prolly not be able to log in. .. or maybe it will. This also stops people from uploading their imags without actually planning to USE the service.
And Trippin - I really do appreciate all the ideas, comments and critisicm (that is one word i'll never be able to spell :S) that you throw at me. You and Wozzym have both given me the most feedback therefore the way my site looks and runs is mainly based on the two things you guys have said to me so feel proud.
And yes- I've thought of that and I'm going to implement it once I finish with my chat program / shoutbox site in a couple of weeks.
And.. Officially... UrURL.us and ThinkCreactive.com are completely finished! All services are running BUG FREE on them (i hope, if you find one let me know)..

Now to work on this super cool chat program I've been planning in my head.
EDIT: Okay I lied - LOL.. ThinkCreactive.com is not FULLY done yet.. The Banner Exchange program I have will basically allow somebody to sit there and keep hitting refresh on their site so that they get "more points"
So I'm going to implement it that you only get x points a certain time frame or maybe make it so that it only works per UNIQUE ip address, though I'm not sure which would be more fair to everyone.
Andrew
Apr 28 2008, 07:46 AM
Well I'm not really sure about the unique IP address theory. Maybe you could count views from single IP addresses like 5 times a day or something. But even then I don't know.
And its criticism.
Firefox helps, it has inline spell checking.

I spelled it critisism the first time. Lol and you only had the c and s mixed up. So good job!
Jetteh22
Apr 28 2008, 08:51 AM
Hm... Yeah...
Guess I'll have to make out some kind of strong complicated algorithm that'll be the perfect amount of "points" ever lol.
And I thought about doing a 2-for-1 point system.
Like for each ad SHOWN on your page you get 2 points, whereas each time your ad is shown you get only 1 taken away...
Dunno yet
OH and with the unique IP address theory the way I was going to do it is like you said this IP address for x amount of ads / day or / hour or something - That way they couldn't set up a page to refresh every 3 seconds and just have my banner ad on it - giving them 1 point every 3 seconds 24 hours a day... Know what I mean?
So I think i'll go like..
You get 1 point for EACH unique IP address per ad per hour..
Meaning if IP address views ad A 3 times in one hour - they still only get the one point for it, whereas if they view ads A, C, D, G, L, P, Z, O, R - thats 9 ads viewed in one hour but each only 5 points per IP..
So if they have 10 visitors an hour each visitor gets a maximum of 5 points - maximum total of 50 points / hour.
I dunno - I do know I'm going to hold off on the chat program for a few days, maybe a week. That involves alot more desgning element and I'm not really wanting to design right now.
Andrew
Apr 28 2008, 09:31 AM
Well I don't know about the two for one point system, it would be great for slower sites, but what happens when you get a site to sign up who has 1000 unique visitors a day. He would end up with a TON of points and not be able to use them (this is when the banner exchange gets more popular of course). Maybe do it that way and see what happens. I'm assuming you have a way to check the pointage for all sites registered right?
Jetteh22
Apr 28 2008, 06:40 PM
Yes
When it shows banners it only shows banners that have at LEAST 1 point - and then from there it shows them in order from the one that was seen longest ago.

Andrew
Apr 30 2008, 09:38 PM
The only prblem I can find with your sites, and this could just be a personal annoyance is that your thinkcreactive sites logo isn't centered the same way as the other three (ururl, commumini, and form mail think) It's just slightly higher than the rest.
Here is the easiest way to view what i'm talkin about.
First open
http://www.ururl.us/then open
http://www.uremf.us/ is a seperate tab
then open
http://www.thinkcreactive.com/ in another seperate tab.
If you click between the three you notice ururl and uremf is lined up exactly the same, but thinkcreactive the TC is slightly to the right and the background arrow image is slightly to the right and to the top.
Just a personal annoyance and I don't know how hard it would be for you to fix.
But other wise great job. It's great to see you have so much motivation!

comumini looks good but it doesnt really work yet. none of the links worked...unless that was somwhere in the post...but id suggest looking into that!
Jetteh22
May 1 2008, 03:09 PM
Lol I know. I made it like that cause I'm still working on the actual programs for it. Once I get it up so that they can make the community, have users register for it, and customize the layout I'm going to open everything else up and then add all the other features as I go along.
