It's a tutorial/tips/guide/article website regarding Linux and other technical stuff. There are also web design info along with some other random articles. What I'd like is if you have some tutorial you could write (specifically for Windows users) because most of my content is for Linux but most of my visitors are using Windows, so in essence I'm trying to please both parties. However, Linux help would also be appreciated.

Besides that, if you can make a little shoutbox that would be cool, it's basically for a trial to see if there's enough user activity because I plan on implementing a forum in the coming few months as my visitor count rises.

The benefit you'll get from writing a tutorial or article for say, would be that you can place a link back to your site by your name or at least at a later stage when you have your own website. But in case not, you will be a permanent "Admin" for the site like me.

Would appreciate any help.

a dont know anything about linux but i could help you with windows and if you want mac. i could definantley make you a shoutbox. Im also in the process of creating my own forums which you could use if you like. Since I will be working with a couple other websites, in the future I might not be as quick. but since i am awaiting for city scapes and commumini to get up and running, I could quickly do the shoutbox and the forums (although the forums will take a while because its a lot of files to make)

If you want you can just pm me with any other details you have. Other than that ill get to the shoutbox and forums possibly tomorrow and the weekend.

I appreciate your help, the shoutbox I'd like to fit just below the top navigation bar and just above the content. The width is set to a liquid 85% (in case you needed to know). About the forums, well I don't really need any forums right now, I intend on using it at a later stage. For now a minor communication tool such as the shoutbox would be great!

Oh I forgot to mention, is there a possibility you can help me with a contact form, as you can see in my contact section I'm still using an e-mail address because I'm useless with PHP and I don't like using third-party scripts with ads and all the lot and don't know how to configure them either anyway.

yes i could help with the contact form. a person, creactive, has actually come up with a contact form that works even though email is not allowed on a zymic host. It limits spam and even though it goes around the mail() code being blocked, it does not open zymic to anything worse than if the email() command was blocked. so i would suggest looking at http://URemf.us

Yeah UrEMF is a good choice that's quick and simple and virtually requires no signups, ect.
It's the first first version so basically all you need to do is fill out like 3 or for questions (lol i made it and already forgot), and make your form using the code it gives you

you can have up to 20 fields i think as long as their named "q1" "q2" ect ect

creactive-you can pm me with details on what you would like me to do if you still need help. Also, id like to know more about commumini such as what kind of community it will host (forum, chat, e.t.c.) and how this will be handled.

ulrich- let me know when you want the shoutbox because i have scripted it, but it involves me adding specific information and it doesnt have an auto installer. Would you like it to use a database or not? I can make either.

wozzym, I'd like the shoutbox as soon as possible. I don't really mind that much whether it uses a database. I guess it would be for the better. My main concern is that it's spam-proof because the last shoutbox I had was spammed with pr0n and stuff...

do you want a captcha image or something? or a time limit on shouts...

A captcha image would really be great if you could do that!
