Firstly, you should have posted in this forum for hosting help.

In there you will find a pinned topic for FTP issues.

There are also some rules which state if you would like help please give your website address.

Now to your problem... it seems as though you have inputted the wrong details to log in to FTP.

HOST: yoursite.subdomain.(com/net/org)
USER: yoursite@subdomain.(com/net/org)
PASS: (your hosting password)
PORT: 21

Note.. host/server is your website address. User is the same but replace the first . (dot) with an @ symbol.

I tried to start a new topic, [ Altered html files ], but it didn't work, so I'm posting in here.
on Sunday, 05-11-2008, all of my html files were changed, but not by me. A long script function line was added, and I wouldn't have a problem with this except that some free virus scanning programs, namely AVG, sends a warning message to others who view my projects. I use symentec-norton, no Viruses and/or other problems are found, and my viewers who use Mc Afee say that they aren't seeing any warning messages when they access my web-pages. Anyway, I reloaded my many of my project pages with the original index-html files, I use NVU, and my question is this. Is there a way I can prevent this from happening again? It takes quite a bit of time to remove the long script lines from my html-index files that I didn't keep a copy of, and if all else fails I'm considering searching for yet another way of doing my work. Any help. and/or ideas will be appreciated, DJNich, ie: Julio

Just wondering: could this be a malware in your system that's doing this?

Alternatively, you could alter the read/write permissions for these particular HTML files once they have been uploaded. That way, you could narrow down your list of 'points' where this problem is being introduced...
