Lately I built a new website
Visit My Website
what do u think about it?
Jacob
Not exactly the greatest design I've seen.
Your navbar doesn't work properly (Tools > Photoshop, etc.) on the index page.

Jacob.

You could try using a seamless background image, one whose edges don't show when it is tiled. You can do this in Photoshop itself using the Offset filter [Filter>Other>Offset] and the cloning tool.

i will take care of it

Personally, I think the design is horrible. Just my opinion though, if you like it: Keep it.
The navigation bar looks ok to me, everything works.
Good luck with it.

@ Valency: Buddy, your direct and to-the-point review just about split me up... biggrin.gif

But yes, the site design could do with some improvements. It needs smaller text for buttons [as well as smaller buttons], a 'narrower' content area [personally, I felt the site is too wide for my 1280x1024 screen res], better distribution/placement of content on the main page. I can't comment on the colour scheme, since different people respond to colours differently.

Note: The problem with the nav bar [as far as I can see] seems to be that some of the drop down button texts overlap the content text.
wozzym
what program are you using to design the layout?
Banjo
Sorry, But personally i don't really like the colours and images used. Also the nav bar for me looks weird in FireFox and I.E (See images below)

I.E 6

As you can see there are a few problems...
-Layout to big for screen
-Nav and Header looks messed up
-The big image is overlaping

FireFox

There are also problems with it in photoshop as well...
-Nav and Header looks a bit messed
-Image overlaping

My suggestion is redesign the site. Although thats just my personal opinion.

The design could definitely use some work. It all looks very amatuerish. The patterns are very weird and the typography needs some work. A good site for inspiration is: http://www.cssremix.com/

I would like to be honest but I'm afraid I can't. If I were you I would ditch the design completely.

And the navbar does not work properly. When I first load the page, the Tools menu dropdown is already dropped down. And then when i hover over it to click on one of the links, like photoshop or such, it just hides the dropdown, meaning I can't click those links.

Also alot of the graphics and text are overlapping each other, and your site scrolls horizontally but there isn't a horizontal scroll bar, I had to do it with my middle mouse button (tilted it left and right)
Valency
@Machine: I aim to please.
The over lap navigation problem is also the same here, I just couldn't put my finger on it.
Good luck with the site.

thx for the comments and honesty. This is my first website I will try to improve it.
Maybe the problem was that i didnt use any program to arrange the pictures....if the are any suggestions about a program I will be happy to hear them smile.gif

hey haha ohmy.gif
calm down, i think that man has spent alot of time and work making this out, and you should better give him some advise, instead of saying " amatuerish and weird "
------
man, your website is good, except its not organized, the layout is not ok, also the navigation bar, it needs to be re-sized, you got alot of big fonts, just make sure to make the page CLEAN, and interesting, i see you got some Ps skills, so show it right
wozzym
You dont need a program to align them, you can simply just slice up a picture and code it. So really, first you should open the program you use, then create what you want it to look like on the page. You should also start with something simple like this:

then once you get the hang of it, just imagine what you want it to look like.

ya exactly, thats too helpful

I was not trying to be rude. I was not calling his site weird, just his choice of patterns for certain areas. A good site for colors and patterns is http://www.colourlovers.com

As far as giving him advice I linked him to a site that in my opinion gives good inspiration for design. I realize that is hard to be a new designer and I probably should have not come down on him so hard.
