ive been making a template but i need some help. I do not know where to go with a content area/the rest of the open area (the part that is light grey) The template is as follows but please provide some ideas. Thanks!

why is ev4eryone fasinated with the diagonal lines?? but besides that, maybe put a side bar with some more links, a login area if it has a member system, a nice header pic, and a couple roundish content areas.

i dont know really. i just put them in to have a little design. ok thanks for the ideas. ima finish this one up, maybe code it, and give it away (that is if anybody even likes it ).

Thats looking nice, what font is that on the header?

i believe it in the alba category. theres like alba bold, e.t.c. Its not the bold one but its in that category somewhere.

Nice template, Maybe you could go for the three box idea of template
From Left to Right:
Nav Bar
Content Box
Login Panel, Affilates Etc.

thanks! gimp actually works pretty well with this. i think next im going to make a couple premium templates.

if you want to keep it simple, the grey area could just be the nav area. click a link and it loads there......very simple though.
