My IP: http://192.168.1.100/ is where my apache is set up, it all works fin and dandy I love it happy.gif
I wondered is there a free way to turn http://192.168.1.100/ into a .com?

Thanks
Andrew
As I replied in another topic, that IP address is not your EXTERNAL ip address. Goto http://ipchicken.com to get your external IP.

And also it's very simple to make your domain name point to your computer. I have my trippin.uni.cc domain pointing to my computer.

Well, Yes. You can pay 10$ a year or less to have your own .com and you can run it off of your computer.

It's fairly cheap (cheaper than any dollars / month) and you have bandwidth, ect for as much as your computer can handle (so if it's an old shitty computer on dial-up, forget it).

I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's easy to set up .com's ect on apache (it took me a long time to get mine to work correctly but that was just me), but if you follow some good tutorials it might be worth it in the end for you.

Though your computer would HAVE to be on 24/7 for people to access your site.
