Ok i have several problems/questions.

1st: when installing mybb, do i delete the index.html folder then create a new one named whatever and upload the files there, or do i rename the index.html folder and upload there?

Also when i uploaded my first try, i had a hard time editing the CHMOD files on 2 file which were Uploads, and uploads/avatars....everytime i edited them they reverted back to their normal state, any help?

there is a walkthrough on installing mybb here.

When I installed my forums, i made a folder called phpbb3, uploaded all phpbb3 files there, and then put a meta redirect in the top level index.html file that redirected to the forums index. Hope that answer your questions.
