I was just thinking of how great some of those tutorials were. Why haven't the admins kept them? I would have thought they were a great source of traffic.
Any admins want to fill me in?

Great? Most of them were extremely basic, poorly written and out of date. I for one think it's best to cut off the old ones, because they really were sub-par.
Classic example : '$_POST and $_GET functions'
Tell us what sort of articles you want, then we can maybe write something a lot more appropriate.

Well you have consider the fact that not everyone is advanced as others. There are some people who use old versions of some softwares for the sake of it, and also the fact that some updated versions of softwares actually still have the old functions/methods of creating certain things.

It wasn't the ideology that we wanted to remove all basic articles / tutorials but instead wanted to provide decent, well written, high quality articles teaching the correct practices and using the correct terminology, something most of the previous ones lacked.

Sorry if I sounded like I was complaining. I was just curious. Thanks for the replies.

Well tbh I think you all should have updated the templates before the new version...I know most people will not agree...But if you all say you are high quality, than how are people supposed to know from one php tutorial? ...And the tutorials that are here have half the images messed up and are glitchy...

The graphic tutorials are mostly not new, we're discussing the coding ones. And well, if you know of problems then report them, a nice itemised list of tutorials with a brief description of the problem will speed up our fixing it greatly because we know exactly where to look.
As to the templates, the new ones are of a much higher quality, but unfortunately we don't have enough to cut off the old ones, and some people still like 'em. It might be worth (at a later date) gradually phasing out those which we deem the lowest quality, salvaging those we think we can, and moving the rest into a less visible archive. Templates are one of the really big draws though, so for now the old ones have to stay.
