That little icon that is associated with its website, next to the link in the address bar and a few other places. What format does it have to be in when making it, and how do you put it there. Cuz on my site, all i got is the default, that has nothing to do with the site. Any ideas?
Thanks

Generally, it is favicon.ico .
Jacob.
The PROPER way:
HTML
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="/path/image.png">
This will work in proper browsers, but not IE6 and prior versions. I'm unsure about IE7, but it should be fine.
.ico is essentially a Microsoft proprietary format.

I think .gif works the best?
Jacob.
.ico is definitely the most supported overall, but in modern browsers it's certainly worth using the above code and any image format you feel like (most likely PNG and GIF for clarity at such a small size, but I'd choose PNG from the two).

Make it larger so you can include more detail (not that it is really needed though) then resize it.
Jacob.

There are tons of online favicon genetor websites on the web. For example you can check favicon-generator.de or favicontool.com.
Or just go to google and write favicon generator to find more websites.
