Full Version: Admin Location & Server Location

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but I'm sure you've seen that many of the admin's locations are in the UK somewhere. . .

However, the zxq.net server for example is located in the US according to Flagfox.

Therefore, how do admins such as Jack manage to carry out maintenance or stuff like that if thet are not even in the US? wacko.gif

After all, it's not like they get an instant flight to the US when required . . . do they? rolleyes.gif

Remote administration or the company which owns the server carries out required maintainence/upgrades depending on what the problem is.

The servers are within a data centre, any hardware maintainance etc is carried out by on-site engineers. Software based changes are done remotely via http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ssh.
