Hey guys blink.gif ,

This is my topic about me learning PHP. I'll ask you guys all the questions in replies and in edits on this main post. Everything that's updated will be under the updated section which will be bold. And it'll have a datestamp. I'll put the datestamp in the GMT time so everyone understands it tongue.gif. I hope i'll learn this fast so i don't annoy you guys too much with my questions tongue.gif.

I just would like to say this before starting with questions. Thank you very much for taking the time for reading this and answering this.
Now i have the following questions before starting with PHP:

Friday 4th of July 17:44 (Congratulations everyone in the US, and remember on the 4th of July it's time for APPLEPIE tongue.gif)
  • Do you guys have any good sites for learning PHP?
  • How do i install the PHP on my computer so i can see what i'm doing on my own computer?

One of my most favorite resource site for php is Tizag.

For downloading try this site: PHP.net
bba
www.tizag.com is one of my favourites too but try www.w3schools.com . And also make sure you have server before you install PHP. By server I mean Apache or IIS which might be already installed in your Windows XP.

You can read the manual at http://www.php.net/ :]

Well I go to tizag for anything that I need to learn fast.
But honestly, the way I learned about 95% of what I know of PHP was from a book called PHP In Easy Steps. Search it up on amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com - It's like 11 US dollars and it's very nice. Everything is color coded, the book has an example with nearly every code so you can see what it's SUPPOSED to look like.

Like I said.. I've learned 95% of what I know from that book.

Sure, it costs money but it's very good quality. It's purple and yellow/green if you're interested (so you don't buy the wrong book).

I believe it comes with a disk that installs a server on your computer, ect, and walks you through the steps of how to set it up properly. If you're going to use zymic or something then you can skip those first few chapters and jump right into learning PHP.
