I'm really no good yet but I though that I'd post my half way decent graphics

A simple chain and cog animation (will change soon)
http://www.snapdrive.net/files/481221/coganim.gif

And a simple weird graphic

I need your inout happy.gif thanks
machine
I checked out both smile.gif

Tip: When attempting/doing a mechanical animation, keep in mind that it needs to 'feel' real. I mean, it's okay if your cogs seem to be suspended in space [that's your visual style smile.gif ] , but the animation itself looks and feels much real if it follows the everyday real-world rules of movement etc.

Your cogs, for instance, mesh into one another at certain points of the animation; that is, they intersect -- which solid objects don't do. So you need to correct that by changing the animation's timing smile.gif . Fix that, adjust the lighting a wee bit smile.gif and the thing will look great.. and more 'real' too smile.gif .

Your so-called 'weird graphic': did you do this in Photoshop? I mean, the lighting effect looks like the one Photoshop has...

And how about using some more colours in your graphics unless, of course, you're going for the black-&-white look. All the best smile.gif !

I was goin for the b&w look yeah xD
and the whole meshing thing isn't my priority since i'm still learning

and the second one was modifies with photoshop, I inverted everything and put the lighting effect on

This is what I do: I try to visualise the scene completely in my mind and then go about building it. See if such a method helps you and keep up the practice smile.gif .

I do visualize it in my head, but im still only just learning.

xD when I said "Im getting isead from machine" I meant "I'm getting ideas from machine" I was to tired to do it right

You don't have to sound so apologetic about the learning part, nitsuarox smile.gif . Don't tell anyone, but some of my early 3D stuff is like, sooooooo bad that I want to dig a hole in the ground and hide my head in it every time I see them [and I see them every once in a while to make sure that I continue to practise smile.gif ].

By the way, what software are you using?

Ideas from me? No, you're not smile.gif -- you're just using a model as a reference to build/create your own original stuff. There's nothing wrong with that at all smile.gif .

All the best!

happy.gif Im using art of illusion

nitsaurox maybe it's just me but that snapdrive site loads SO slow, or maybes it's the size of your files, but maybe try uploading them to a different image host. imageshack.us might be a good one but I'm not sure if they support animated gifs, they should though.

Holy cow, I just looked at the size of your animations, they are over 1mb. I don't use Art Of Illusion so I don't know if there is a way to make them smaller, but wow. So I don't even know if a different host would help, it might just be my download speed isn't very good.

Anyways I just wanted to say good job, practice is everything, and I took an engineering class in highschool where we used 3d Studio Max alot and my beginning models were horrible, the first thing we made was a pencil and it looked like I had made the worlds fattest pencil. I slowly got better at it, but I never really took the time to practice so I didn't get very good. But I think I'm going to get back into it

Trippin', you raised a very good point smile.gif : A lot of people post images, screenshots and animations at the forum that are way too large for the average web surfer to download. Please keep in mind that filesize is a big concern for people like us who don't have spuer-fast internet access or unlimited bandwidth. Do try to keep the size of your images/animations under control.

nitsuarox, good to see you practising, man smile.gif . When rendering animation for the web, use small-sized animations or render shorter animations to keep the file size under control. You'll get the hang of it as you carry on with this 3D stuff...
nitsuarox
yeah I'll drop the size on those xD
Monster
You can convert it and not lose any of it's values and taking up less bandwidth.

I created a flash program that when anyone converts a file to a flv, Images etc, all he has to do is dump the file in a folder and it generates and gallery with a controls.

I like you animation very nicely done and can be used for logos of some type. Nice work. . .

Cheers

I just examined the dimensions of your animations, they are over 1mb. I don't use Art Of Illusion so I don't understand if there is a way to make them lesser, but wow. So I don't even understand if a distinct owner would assist, it might just be my download pace isn't very good.
