Zymic V6 is now open! - September 16th, 2007 12:17 PM
Hello!
After months and months of work we have finally finished the all new version (6) of Zymic.com! As you can see a lot has changed, from the design to all new features such as free web hosting. The drastic change is the main reason it took so long, everything was re-coded from scratch and new ideas were created along the way.
Firstly I'll talk about the design. I decided to design something a bit more professional compared to the previous version,
this was for a number of reasons; I wanted to attract a more professional audience of webmasters, and I also wanted to offer new features which would suit a more professional market. I think the design works well, and with the top and left based navigation everything should be fairly easy to find. We have tested the design in many browsers, and the only problems we have had are with Linux Operating Systems, due to having wide fonts causing the top navigation to go onto a new line. If you spot any other problems, including errors or bugs, we'd appreciate it if you posted them on our forums.
As you can probably see, our main new feature is free web hosting. We thought it would be a good idea to offer a service up to par to paid professional hosting. The main two market dominants are sadly still the likes of Geocities and Tripod, which quite frankly have been stuck in the 1990's in terms of features. Our free web hosting hasPHP enabled and allows the use of MySQL databases backed by PHPMyAdmin, not many free hosts offer this. We are also offering a nice amount of disk-space and bandwidth, and best of all our hosting is Ad-Free. You are probably thinking "this is too good to be true, what's the catch?", there isn't one - the hosting will be funded by our main site revenue, and so we can make this possible.
If you like our hosting, please Digg us to support the site: http://digg.com/tech_deals/FREE_PHP_MySQL_Hosting :)
How does hosting work? When you sign-up to Zymic, you will get access to our all new ZCP (Zymic Control Panel), from there you will have an overview of your hosting accounts with us, and obviously an option to create a new account (we don't restrict you with any limit!). From the ZCP you can then access the unique login URL for a specific web hosting account and login to your ZHCP (Zymic Hosting Control Panel). The ZHCP is a nice and simple to use control panel which will enable you to manage various aspects of your website, including: web based file manager (or use FTP), MySQL database management (including PHPMyAdmin), website statistics, point your own custom domain name to your hosting account (optional) and much more. You may learn more by visiting our free web hosting page.
We decided to give our web forums a fresh start, and so all posts and topics from our last version have been wiped. The forums use the same user database as the main site, so you won't have to sign-up twice
either. Simply signup to Zymic and then login to the forum to activate your account. The forum has been redesigned to suit our new layout, however the main difference being it is a liquid % layout, which is great for large content threads. You can visit the forum here: http://www.zymic.com/forum/.
The free template section has always been one of the main path ways users find out about Zymic, and so we have redesigned the listing slightly, including a new sort form and listing type. From now on all new layouts will be CSS based without tables, and the quality of the designs will be stepped up. We plan to release 1-2 templates per week, if not more, certainly an achievable target. You can visit the new free template section here: http://www.zymic.com/free-templates/.
We have automated our copyright removal system to enable users toautomatically buy licenses to remove our template copyright text. There has been an increase of $2.50 per license fee, not a huge price increase. We will also be a lot stricter on illegal license removals (websites which remove credit back to Zymic without paying the license fee), and so we have made a report page which will enable anyone to see if a certain site has legally removed the copyright. You can view more information here: http://www.zymik.com/free-templates/copyright-removal/search/.
We are also offering template customization services, for those of you who may not have the experience or time required to edit one of our templates. Our services include adding content, changing logos, changing color schemes, and much more. You can find information here: http://www.zymic.com/template-customization/.
And finally for our template section we have opened a premium template section which offers high quality designs at low prices, ideal for people who wish to use a template which hasn't been downloaded by thousands of people. You can visit this here: http://www.zymic.com/premium-templates/.
We have also released a new tutorial section, located at http://www.zymic.com/tutorials/. For the launch we have mainly focused on providing new PHP tutorials, and in the end decided to scrap our old tutorials, simply because they were lacking quality. The new tutorials have been written to a high standard, and hopefully you won't find similar ones out there. There is also a new Photoshop tutorial, however we lack a Photoshop tutorial team. If you are interested in writing Photoshop tutorials, please contact admin@zymic.com and I will provide to with some pricing details.
We have also opened a new website traffic service, enabling you to buy quality website traffic at cheap prices. Our website traffic is backed by our unique control panel enabling you to manage your campaigns with ease. Unlike most companies, our traffic is from real people and not bots. We guarantee 24hr unique visitors. You can learn more about our traffic here http://www.zymic.com/website-traffic/.
Last but not least we now offer website layout coding. Do you have a design in .PSD Photoshop format (or any image format for that matter..)? We can transform your layout into valid CSS/(X)HTML neat code within days. You may see our services here: http://www.zymic.com/layout-coding/.
