Learn how to make a colour burst effect in a few simple steps.

Step 1

Make a new document 600 x 600 pixels with a white bg.
Press D and X on your keyboard to reset the colours.

Make a new layer [ Layer > New Layer ] and then go to: [ Filter > Render > Clouds ]

Next go to [ Filter > Blur > Radial Blur ] and use these settings:
Amout = 100
Blur Method = Zoom
Quality = Best

And press OK!

Step 2

Now go to [ Filter > Pixelate> Mezzotint ] and select long lines from the drop down box and press ok.

Step 3

Now we need to Radial Blur it again, go to [ Filter > Blur > Radial Blur ] And press OK!

Step 4

Your image should look like below at this stage, it looks pretty cool eh? But we need to add a bit more life into it, see next step.

Step 4 diagram

Step 5

For the last stage we need to colour it, press CTRL+U to bring up the hue/saturation options and then choose your colours! As you can see, I used green but blue and many other colours will look good too!
