Create an advanced professional layout for your hosting company, 100% expandable with a 100 steps to follow.
Step 1
Start a new document 700 pixels by 800 pixels. Fill
the background in with the colour: #363E59
Make a new layer, name it "header base".
Now select the rectangular marquee tool and make a selection the whole width
of the canvas and roughly 100 pixels high. Select the gradient tool and make
a gradient similar to the one below.
Step 2
Grab the polygonal lasso tool and make a selection similar to the one below and then press delete on your keyboard.
Step 3
Bring up the blending options for this tutorial, Bevel & Emboss:
Step 4
Drop Shadow and press OK after.
Step 5
Now make a selection using the polygonal lasso tool similar to the one below. Press delete and then go to [ Select > Modify > Contract > 1 Pixel] and press OK.
Step 6
Do not deselect still.. make a new layer and fill the selection in with white and then bring up the blending options and choose "Gradient Overlay". After that press OK.
Step 7
You should have something similar to below.
Step 8
Now lets add some text to the header. I selected a font called "Hemi Head 426" which is available for download in our font section (high tech). I typed my text out in white.
Step 9
Bring up the blending options, Outer Glow:

Gradient Overlay and press OK:
Step 11
Now hold CTRL on your keyboard and left click on the text layer in the layers pallet you should now see a selection.
Step 12
Now go to [ Select > Modify > Expand > 5 Pixels (and press OK) ].
Step 13
Your selection should now be bigger!
Step 14
With the selection still in place, click on the "header base" layer in the layers pallet and then hit delete on your keyboard and "ctrl + d" to deselect!
Step 15
You should now have something similar to below.
Step 16
I then added "company" text and did the same similar processes like in the above steps however gave the text a different color gradient which gave me the below result.
Step 17
Make a new layer :) Grab the pencil tool (1pixel) and draw a border 1 pixel away from the base header layer. Click the below image to see what i'm talking about!
Step 18
Grab the text tool, type out "Domain Search" and apply similar blending styles to the below image. If you looked at the finished result.. you will see that there's a domain search form which will be inserted below the "domain search" text.
Step 19
Grab the "Rounded Rectangle Tool" with a radius of 10 pixels (white). Now make a similar size shape:
Step 20
Now move the layer below the "header base" layer in the layers pallet. Your shape should now look like below.
