Create futuristic orbs for your interfaces or site layouts!
Make a new document around the size of 200 x 100.
Fill in your canvas with the colour #535353
Make a new layer and select the Elliptical Marquee Tool.
And at the top of the screen select fixed size and use this size: width= 28 pixels, height= 23 pixels
Now click any where near the middle of your canvas and it should make a circle selection, select the paint bucket tool and fill the selection in with black!
Press Ctrl D to deselect.
Open up the blending options [ Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options ]
Click Inner Shadow and use these settings:
Now go to: Outer Glow
Now go to: Inner Glow
Now go to: Bevel And Emboss
Now go to: Contour
Now go to: Satin
Now go to: Colour Overlay
Now go to: Stroke
I'm sure your getting tired now? Well... wouldn't it be nice to save these settings so you don't have to keep repeating this tutorial? At the top left of the blending options window click Styles.
Click new style and Name it ORB and press OK. Now if you ever need this tutorial again, just click the style named "ORB" and tadaa!
Now press "Ctrl + Click the orb layer", a selection should have been made. Make a new layer and drag it underneath the orb layer. Go to [ Select > Modify > Expand ] by 3 or 5 pixels. The selection should now be bigger than the orb.
Now select the colour #333333 for your foreground colour and #656565 for your bg colour like on the right.
Select the gradient tool and drag a line through the middle of your selection.
Your Orb should now look like it's inset into the canvas, this is a good technique for when you build interfaces and layouts.
Orb's are great for interfaces and various designs, for example these orbs were used in zymic V2!
nice it goes great on gaming templates
