Create a cool techno background effect in this simple tutorial.

Step 1

Start a new document, any size you wish (works best when height is bigger than width).

Set your foreground color to #363636 and your background color to #D4D4D4.

Go to [Filter > Render > Clouds] and then we need to difference the clouds, [Filter > Render > Difference Clouds]. Your result should look similar to the below image.

Now go to: [ Filter > Sketch > Halftone Pattern ] and leave it as the default settings and press ok.

Now colour the image, press [Ctrl + U] to bring up the hue/sat options, check colourize and choose your colours.
It works best with a lime green colour. If you are after a better result, I found that resizing the document to around half the size gives you a great effect.
